I've chosen to discuss the function that press violence performs in violence in children, specifically since related to Albert Bandura's experiments. I especially chose this kind of topic based on Bandura's findings with his well-known Bobo girl doll study (which has been incredibly influential to linking media exposure to chaotic aggressive behavior in children). In researching this paper, I really hope to find an answer to satisfy my curiosity whether or not the mass media is to blame to the magnitude that Bandura would have all of us believe or are there various other forces responsible. Is it rational to blame media for the escalating violence or is there other causes at perform? On one hand Bandura, conducted research where children saw a film of an mature beating the Bobo girl doll wildly then most mimicked that behavior but on the other hand, the results of these study mentioned 88% of the children duplicated that tendencies, not fully. Is there a probability that out and out aggression could be educated, as Albert Bandura implies? Is it possible that aggression is actually a genetic? Or perhaps, is it possible that aggression can be tied to some type of mental health issues? My speculation is that whilst media might play a role in desensitizing children to intense or violent behavior it however , does not create chaotic or aggression in kids.
My initial claim is if media assault is related to extreme and violent behavior in that case why isn't very everyone chaotic and intense? To use Bandura's Bobo toy study for example, 88% with the children who have participated mimicked the behavior from the models nevertheless the other 12% did not. The particular them distinct? Why had been they not manipulated in to behaving in the same hostile manner? Can it be correct to assume that the social learning theory really does in fact ignore the biological point out, genetic, head, and learning differences in each of us? C....
